Betty and Bertie Lupin Mobility Scooter Review
Let’s put another scooter under the microscope. Welcome to our Betty and Bertie Lupin Mobility Scooter Review.
It’s a nice looking one, was our first impression, whether in a cool racing-red and black or the more understated grey and black.
Let’s delve deeper than that, though, and check out how suitable it is for most people as a folding, lightweight scooter. That’s what most people will be looking for if you’re interested in this kind of scooter. Other makes and models are more suitable if it’s for street driving, for example.
Here’s where to check out the Lupin’s price and specifications.

The pluses and drawbacks, and who is most suited to this model:

Betty and Bertie are a premium mobility scooter maker
Their scooters are some of the highest quality on the market. The majority of other makers are focuses on non-folding scooters, which are Class 3 models for road-use. Betty and Bertie are the exception, the only premium quality maker who specialise on lightweight, fold-up scooters.

Value is good
Despite the aforementioned quality, the price is decidedly mid-range. Cheaper foldable models are available, for sure, but not of this quality.

Extremely lightweight
This came into particularly sharp focus when compiling our lists of the best mobility scooters overall in 2024, and we noted the Betty and Bertie Lupin is more than 100kg lighter than another top performer, the Green Power Faster.

Easy to manouvre
One of the best in this regard; we found that the Betty and Bertie Lupin can turn around completely in even the tightest spaces.

Impressive range on a single charge
We found it outperforms all other leading folding mobility scooters on the market for range, allowing a maximum of 21 miles. That’s enough for the vast majority of users.
Cons and why this model is not for you:

Not that suitable for heavy users
It has close to the lowest Maximum User Weight on the mobility scooter market, in fact. 15.7 stones is the maximum. Now, bear in mind that Betty and Bertie, as a very reputable maker of mobility scooters, may simply be being more conservative than other makers with their figure.

It‘s bigger than you may think
Despite being super-light, it’s not one of the smallest, compared to other lightweight foldup mobility scooters. But this is nitpicking, slightly – it’s still much smaller than road scooters or any non-folding ones.
Where can you get it?
